June Defensive Driving and Autocross Regional Event

There is nothing more precious to us than promoting road safety for our members, families, and friends, and with that in mind we’re again hosting a Regional Defensive Driving/Autocross event on Saturday, June 9th . Once again our “track” will be the parking lot at Center Grove High School south of Indianapolis, and we have invited MBCA members from other sections to participate. Tech inspection begins at 8:30AM, after which instructor-led training for Defensive Driving will begin. There will be a series of stages designed to teach various avoidance and emergency maneuvers which will demonstrate how our vehicles react in controlled emergency situations. There will be a break for lunch (included in the cost) and then the autocross begins, where there will be an opportunity to integrate lessons learned on a closed course first with instructors and then timed on our own. Certificates will be awarded to all participants, and prizes will be awarded for performance categories. Participation is open to MBCA members and others with valid licenses. This is a golden oppor-tunity for teens to improve their driving skills and have some fun at the same time. Drivers are encouraged to bring the cars they drive every day.
